new orleans

New Orleans is absolutely cool! Bourbon Street is a very funny place to hang around (once you manage to hang around dodging lots of drunk people)

Meetings were fine, party was fine, Marko picked up a girl at Peter O’Toole’s… I mean Pat O’Briens… we had jazz, we had Hurricanes and we had some new stuff going on from SAC, like the idea of organizing a worldwide programming contest (with a different approach from those of the ACM or TopCoder, of course). Temporarily suggested name is IEEEXtreme, but we are looking for new ideas!

Also, a new collaboration group will be started for enhancing SAC/GOLD collaboration and activities. With the inminent appearance of the . Geeky-extraordinaire Miss Lori Hogan, IEEE Region 7 Student Representative, is to be on charge of representing SAC in this new initiative. With such a representation, we can´t do bad };D

Finally, we also had the prizes for the outstanding cousellor award. From Region 8, prize goes to S.S.N. Okeke from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria. From here, my e-congratulations! And to all student branches out there, remember that we give these every year, so don´t forget to nominate your counsellors if they are doing great. Help keep them know that their efforts are recognized! You’ve got all the info here
