back from Campus Party

After Valencia, back to (strangely sunny) London! Just arrived on Sunday, but couldn’t do much since then due to being ubertired!

While I recover my strength this week, let me tell you it was an AWESOME experience! Campus Party was better than I remembered: excellent organization, really good camping area and showers, really good activities going on… and of course: lots of wonderful people! }:)

I want to thank Clara, Susana and the rest of Google Spain for inviting me, erjica and his girlfriend for giving moral support in long nights (and congratulations for the prize!), people from the IEEE Student Branches for being generally wonderful as usual, Fabri for the demos and Babsi for being so cool and sharing all those moments and… well, everybody who contributed to the experience!

Oh! Apart from doing some coding, watching some talks and meeting people, we even managed to appear in the press (link to ElPais) and to win a table football (aka “futbolin”) tournament (link to blog)

To sum up… this rocked! }:D

And now… get ready for the next one! CCC, there we go!

P.S. no, no photos from me, but you can peruse some in Ines’s Picasa web!

nabazlib version 0.11

hallo everybody, long time no see! }:P

Nabaztag rabbits are becoming increasingly popular, if we were to judge by their presence in the hacking events I’ve been to this year, and also in our own Google London office. Therefore, it was just natural that at some point I asked somebody to borrow one to play.

So, thanks to Jonathan Gerrish and Hank Drew (and their not-so-furry-yet-cute nabazfriends Elconejo and Bobbles) I’ve done a small library to abstract Violet’s Nabaztag API and make it easier to integrate in some hacks: check out nabazlib at code.google.com

It’s still an early hack, but it will allow you some nice playing with TTS and choreographies. Plan to add some more stuff later this week, while I attend GoogleHack at Campus Party in Valencia (I may also use it for a demo)

If you happen to give it a try, let me know what you think! }:)
