So, as this is my first weekend of the year in which I have both some free time and a proper Internet connection, I thought about writing an update on how my year is starting. So far in this 2008 I have:
- Went to Las Vegas for the CES show. Took some photos, went to visit Hoover Dam, saw Zumanity, by Cirque du Soleil. Saw Yahoo’s presentation of Go 3.0 and met some of the VIPs around CES (including Robert Scoble, Jerry Yang, David Filo, Kevin Costner and no less than 3 porn stars… in no particular order)
- Came to Yahoo’s headquarters in Sunnyvale for 3 weeks of work with the oneSearch team.
- Read “El alma esta en el cerebro” (”Soul is in the brain”) by Eduardo Punset, a gift from Kan and Elena (thanks a lot! it’s a very good book!) and re-read “Peopleware” by DeMarco and Lister (one of the best books you can read if you’re involved in software development) I suppose I should set a goal like “read 50 new books this year” or similar but… probably will do it anyway… Next on the list are Stephen King’s “The Gunslinger”, DeBono’s “Lateral Thinking” and Oram&Wilson’s “Beautiful Code”
- Finished “Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” and got already on my way through “Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap”. My plan for this year is to finish every single Zelda game ever released }:P
So far this year looks exciting… how about yours? Hope you’re also up to a good start! };)
