test post from Wordpress

I’ve been able to migrate the blog data from DasBlog into Wordpress. Hope this works, as I’ve been very upset by the fact that DasBlog does NOT export compliant XHTML 1.0 (damn “easy-editors”!) and don’t have time to touch it here and there

Actually, I also wanted to try some of the famous and almighty Wordpress… it’s actually a very cool web application and I liked the interface. So Joel is one of those guys who also take their own advices… that’s a good thing.

(by the way, if you don’t usually read http://www.joelonsoftware.com let me advise you: a) start reading it and/or b) buy his book)

talking about engineering precollege

Today I had the opportunity of addressing a group of precollege Computer/Software students (part of what in Spain we called “ciclos de grado superior”, which are some sort of technical education courses at a preuniversity level). Some teachers from my High School invited me to take part in this event organized by the Andalusian Government which aim was to show these students experiences and ideas they could use in the future, either if they decided to go work in software companies or continue studying at a University level or maybe start their own businesses.

back in black

So I finally decided to get back to blogging and starting from scratch after some tries of recovering my old files with notes and blog data. After all, I can always recover those as side notes.

My plans about the blog are of course report about technology, programming and nonsensical things that happen to me from time to time. For those who do not know me it’s nice because they can laugh at some of my stupidities and criticize my actions and my horrible photos and for those who do it’s a good way to know what I’ve been up to lately. As this year I happen to be a member of the IEEE Region 8 Student Activities Committee (see http://www.ieee.org/r8sac) the plan includes to use the blog to comment on part of the activities and initiatives that are taking place (always from my personal point of view, of course, for the “official” one, refer to IEEE or SAC pages) and maybe get some feedback and advice from you, my dear visitors }:)

So… ready, steady… blog!
